Trichomes produce cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids. This is a very important part of the flowers of the cannabis plant, which has a very big influence on the effects, smell and taste of cannabis with CBD or THC. The so-called trichome grows on the outer part of the female cannabis cone (see PHOTO above), where it produces a pale resin that contains active substances and nutrients such as Cannabidiol, Cannabigerol or Cannabinol. They can also be recognised, for example, by the small, mostly dark hairs that grow out of them over time.

Trichomes in cannabis produce active substances
Every single variety of the Cannabis plant has its own specific effects, its own specific smell, its own specific taste and its own specific appearance or colouring. Behind these key characteristics are the so-called trichomes, which represent one of the basic building blocks of cannabis. The trichome essentially allows it to distinguish itself from other cannabis varieties. It is where the cannabinoids (CBD, CBG, CBN, CBC or THC) are produced, including the sought-after nutrients, which include both flavonoids and terpenes with a relaxing effect.
As already mentioned, trichomes can be described as a kind of power plant where all the important active substances that make cannabis so sought after are produced. So it is probably no great surprise that this is one of the main parts of this controversial plant. This is one of the reasons why more and more experts and scientists are looking into trichomes. If one day they manage to enrich the creation of substances, they will be able to increase both sales and profits for the manufacturers of CBD products. They can then extract significantly more nutrients from a single plant than is the case these days.
